STAR CLASH
Ver 1.0
STAR CLASH is a modem to modem arcade type Star ship
war game. It requires EGA or VGA graphics with at least 256K
on the graphics card. It will run on an IBM PS/2 with full
VGA. It will not run on a PS/2 with only MCGA.
STAR CLASH uses bit mapped graphics and a 2-D Display.
It provides the player with Photon torpedoes Phasers and
Shields, in other words everything you need to blow the other
person away.
You will need a modem or a null modem connection to run
STAR CLASH. Once you start the program by typing STARC10
you will be asked to enter some communication options. STAR
CLASH supports up to 9600 baud. After the options you will be
taken to the terminal screen. From here you may enter any
modem command (ie. ATD555-5555). If you notice double
echoing of characters to the screen or no echoing of
characters you may toggle Echo on or off using the ALT-E
command. Terminal commands are listed on the bottom line.
When you are connected to another players computer type ALT-Q
to begin the game. For a summary of the game commands you
can enter ALT-I to receive a help screen. This help screen
is not usable while playing the game. For Practice Mode
where you can learn to fly your ship and become used to the
commands enter ALT-P. In this mode the enemy does not move
and you cannot kill him, but you may fire at him for
practice. To exit the game and return to the terminal
section press the / key.

STAR CLASH
Ver 1.0
You start the game with 0 damage, phaser power at 100,
shield power at 100, and 50 photon torpedoes. Each time you
fire phasers you lose 20 phaser points until your phaser
energy falls below 20 then you cannot fire. Phaser energy
builds up slowly if you have shields raised or very fast if
you do not. Each time you get hit by enemy phasers your
shields get reduced by 10 points if raised otherwise you
receive 10 points of damage. You may fire up to 3 photon
torpedoes at a time forward plus 1 to the rear. Each time you
get hit by enemy torpedoes your shields get reduced by 20
points if raised otherwise you receive 20 points of damage.
Damage is slowly repaired and shields are slowly charged. If
Damage is greater then 0 your speed will be reduced, the
greater the damage the slower your ship can fly. If Damage
reaches or passes 100 you lose and the game will end.
Below is a listing of all commands that can be used
during a game.

"5" - Fire Forward Photon Torpedo
"6" - Turn Right
"7" - Turn Left and Fire Forward Photon Torpedo
"8" or "+" - Increase Speed
"9" - Turn Right and Fire Forward Photon Torpedo
"A" - Fire Rear Photon Torpedo
"D" - Come to Complete Stop
"F" - Full Speed Ahead
"S" - Shield Toggle Up/Down
"T" - Turn Angle Toggle High/Low
"/" - Surrender or End Game (You Lose)
